Biergarten am Chinesischen Turm

On nice days, thousands of visitors -- both locals and tourists from around the world -- occupy the wooden benches and tables of the most famous beer garden in the city (7,000 seats). Here tourists sit next to typical Munich characters and students sit next to businessmen. They all drink Hofbrau Beer by the pint and enjoy all kinds of Bavarian specialties from the self-service area. (You are also allowed to bring your own snacks.) The pagoda-shaped "China Tower," a picturesque focal point on the edge of the beer garden, was built in 1789 and after several destructive fires was last rebuilt in 1952. Not only does it look good, it sounds good: On Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays the tower brass music guarantees a festive mood. The neighboring restaurant at the Chinese Tower is a bit trendier: Bavarian classics and creative modern dishes are served here in the winter.

Old food - disgusting! The only thing which is edible is the ice cream or the iced coffee - Bring your own food!

The food tastes old, but you can bring your own food and the beer garden is really nice
